The state’s Commissioner of Police, Baba Mohammed Azare, revealed the arrest during a briefing on February 5. He confirmed that the boy’s father had also been apprehended.

In a related case, CP Azare also reported the arrest of Abasifreke Udo Thomas, also known as Udo Orlando or Olamide, from Ikot Ibiom village, who shot a woman in December 2024.
