IGP Appoints CSP Benjamin Hundeyin as New Force Public Relations Officer

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the appointment of CSP Benjamin Hundeyin as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), succeeding DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

CSP Hundeyin brings a strong academic and professional background to the role. He holds a BA in English from Lagos State University and an MSc in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan. He also holds a Certificate in Civil-Military Coordination from the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre in Jaji, Kaduna.

A seasoned communications expert, Hundeyin is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), a Member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).

According to a statement released Thursday by DCP Adejobi, the newly appointed FPRO previously served as the Police Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Command and at Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos. He also served in the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) in 2020 and held an administrative role at the Force Public Relations Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The IGP has tasked CSP Hundeyin with strengthening the Nigeria Police Force’s public engagement and communication strategies. DCP Adejobi has formally handed over the position.
