
Three persons living with disabilities, including a 60-year-old man identified as Romanus Nwabara, have been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency over alleged drug trafficking activities.
The agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday, May 10, 2026, saying the suspects were apprehended during separate operations in Anambra and Kwara states.
According to the statement, Nwabara was arrested on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, following intelligence reports that led operatives to Akpaka Forest in Onitsha, where he was allegedly found with 250 grams of skunk packaged in retail sachets.
Babafemi added that in another operation carried out in the Ogbunike area of Anambra on Thursday, May 7, NDLEA officers arrested another suspect, 25-year-old Amos Kenneth, who was reportedly found with 160.3 grams of Tramadol 225mg and 100mg, 80 pills of Diazepam, 38.23 grams of Exol 5, and 176.93 grams of skunk.
In a separate incident in Kwara State, NDLEA operatives on patrol along Bode Saadu on Friday, May 8, intercepted a commercial vehicle during a stop-and-search operation. One of the passengers, identified as Usman Salisu, was allegedly found with 6.3 kilograms of skunk concealed inside a brown school bag.
