Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has explained why efforts to take ailing actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, to various locations for spiritual treatment have not been possible.
In a statement, Kosoko thanked fans, colleagues and well-wishers for their prayers, financial assistance and offers to provide both medical and spiritual support for the actor.
According to him, the family has received hundreds of offers from people who believe they can help Ogogo, but moving him from the hospital at this stage of his treatment would be extremely difficult.
Kosoko said more than 300 and even over 500 people had offered assistance, making it challenging for the family to determine where to take the actor while ensuring that he continues to receive proper medical care.
He appealed to those offering help not to feel offended if the family is unable to bring Ogogo to them, stressing that the decision does not mean they doubt their intentions.
The veteran actor urged the public to continue praying for Ogogo and supporting his family as they remain hopeful for his recovery.
“We believe strongly that, with your prayers, our prayers, and the mercy of Almighty God, Taye will come out of this situation successfully,” Kosoko said.
