President Bola Tinubu is currently presiding over a meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at the State House in Abuja.

The meeting began with the national anthem shortly after Tinubu arrived at the Council Chamber at about 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19.

Those in attendance include the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; members of the Federal Executive Council, presidential aides and heads of government agencies.

Before the meeting commenced, Akume called for a minute’s silence in honour of two former members of the Council who died since the previous FEC meeting.

At the last FEC meeting held on June 29, following a break of more than two months, Tinubu swore in two new Federal Commissioners representing Bauchi and Kaduna states on the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission.

As of the time of filing this report, details of Wednesday’s FEC meeting had yet to be disclosed.
