Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has revealed that she is still open to marriage—if she meets the right man. The 58-year-old made the statement during an interview with BBC Yoruba, where she spoke candidly about her personal journey, challenges living abroad, and her return to the Nigerian film industry.

Addressing questions about her marital status, Wright said she remains hopeful for another chance at love, though she doesn’t see marriage as a necessity.

“When it comes to marriage, I’m still very much interested—but only if God has destined it. It is not a must,” she said. “I’m not saying women shouldn’t pursue marriage, but for me personally, I’m still hopeful.”

The actress added that during a recent pilgrimage to Mecca, she prayed specifically for a new beginning in marriage.

“To show how serious I am, when I went to Al Kaaba, I told God. And I believe He is a God who answers prayers,” she shared.

Bukky Wright has been married five times. Her first marriage was to Gboyega Amu, the father of her two sons. Following their separation, she married actor and former NNPC executive Rotimi Makinde, who is now a member of the House of Representatives.

Her third marriage was to Femi Davies, a prominent society journalist, followed by a union with Bolaji Saheed, a music promoter.

In 2010, she tied the knot with Adewale Onitiri, a US-based businessman. That marriage also eventually ended in divorce.

Despite past setbacks, Wright says she remains optimistic about the future and continues to focus on her career and personal growth.
