The Nigeria Police Force, through operatives of the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), Abuja, has arrested and repatriated a Chadian national, Mahadijiria Abdoulaye, who was wanted by authorities in N’Djamena over the alleged murder of Nazik Mahamat Saleh.
Saleh was reportedly tortured and killed on May 3, 2026, prompting the Court of Appeal in N’Djamena to issue an international warrant of arrest for Abdoulaye and her alleged accomplice, Fatime Senoussi Mouktar, on June 22, 2026.
According to the Nigeria Police Force spokesperson, CSP Ani Iniedu, Abdoulaye, who was also allegedly linked to narcotics trafficking activities in Chad, fled to Nigeria following the incident.
She was subsequently traced and arrested by INTERPOL NCB Abuja operatives on August 5, 2026, at Railway Quarters in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State, following coordinated intelligence operations.
Police authorities said Abdoulaye was repatriated to N’Djamena on August 14, 2026, through Lomé, Togo, under established bilateral police cooperation arrangements.
The operation was carried out in collaboration with INTERPOL NCB N’Djamena to facilitate her return to Chad to face the judicial process.
Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, commended the INTERPOL NCB Abuja operatives for their professionalism, diligence and coordination with their Chadian counterparts.
He said the successful arrest and repatriation demonstrated the Force’s commitment to ensuring that fugitives cannot evade justice by crossing international borders.
