Afrobeats sensation Ruger recently shared insights into his financial journey during an interview with VJ Adams.
Revealing that his very first music payment was ₦500,000, Ruger said he gave the entire amount to his church.
“I didn’t use it,” he explained. “I gave everything to the church. The next payment was about a million — I was so happy, buying parfaits and stuff. Then more millions came within a year.”
The singer also reflected on how earning money has influenced his mindset and approach to life.
“Money changes everybody, don’t mind what others say,” Ruger said. “A lot changes when you start making money. The way you handle things and approach life becomes different.”
He shared his ultimate goal is to have wealth that lets him “move in silence,” much like Jay-Z.
“Some people are so rich they don’t stress at all. That’s the point I want to reach. You see Jay-Z? No matter how many times he’s called out, he never speaks. That’s the kind of money I want.”
