Nigeria’s Department of State Services (DSS) has issued a warning to the public against Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, a dismissed operative accused of impersonating the agency to defraud citizens.
In a notice released on Sunday, the DSS urged Nigerians to avoid any dealings with Godwin and to contact the Service directly for any complaints or inquiries.
“The Department of State Services (DSS) hereby alerts members of the public about the activities of Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, a dismissed staff member,” the notice stated. “He is reportedly involved in unscrupulous acts, including using the Service’s name to swindle unsuspecting individuals.”
The notice advised the public to refrain from interacting with him and provided official contact channels for verification or reporting:
-
Phone: 09088373515
-
Email: dsspr@dss.gov.ng
This advisory comes shortly after a similar warning last week regarding another dismissed officer, Barry Donald, who was also accused of exploiting the DSS name to deceive Nigerians.
Authorities continue to urge vigilance and recommend direct verification with the DSS before engaging with anyone claiming affiliation with the agency.
