EPL: Conte Holds Talks Over Manchester United Job, Sets Conditions

Former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has reportedly held talks over replacing Michael Carrick as Manchester United manager, with the Italian outlining his conditions to the club’s senior leadership.

Carrick is facing mounting pressure at Old Trafford following Manchester United’s heavy 4-1 defeat away to Como in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The defeat leaves United with just two wins from their opening 11 matches across all competitions this season.

Although Carrick is expected to remain in charge for Sunday’s Premier League home fixture against Bournemouth, another heavy loss could spell the end of his tenure at the club.

According to La Repubblica, Conte is open to returning to the Premier League but has made his demands clear during discussions with United executives.

The Italian reportedly wants full control over player recruitment to strengthen the squad during the January and summer transfer windows.

He is also said to be demanding complete authority over the appointment of his backroom staff as part of any potential agreement with the Premier League club.
