Premier League side Everton have reportedly entered the race to sign Super Eagles midfielder Christantus Uche from Spanish club Getafe.
The 22-year-old defensive midfielder has drawn significant attention across Europe following an impressive breakout season in La Liga. Uche featured in 38 matches under manager José Bordalás, contributing four goals and seven assists — a standout performance that has marked him as one of the league’s rising stars.
Interest in the Nigerian international is mounting, with Premier League clubs Leeds United, Brentford, Chelsea, and Newcastle United, as well as La Liga giants Atlético Madrid, all monitoring his situation closely.
According to Estadio Deportivo, Everton are the latest club to signal serious interest as the summer transfer window approaches.
Uche’s current contract includes a €25 million release clause, though Getafe are reportedly open to negotiations. Additionally, his former club, Ceuta, is entitled to 20% of any future transfer fee due to a sell-on clause.
Discussions regarding Uche’s future are expected to intensify in the coming weeks, with Getafe president Ángel Torres and newly appointed sporting director Toni Muñoz set to play central roles in determining the next steps.
