A woman living with albinism has shared her experience of alleged workplace discrimination, claiming she was denied a job despite being the most qualified candidate for the position.

The woman spoke about her experience during a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, where she appeared alongside other people living with albinism.

According to her, she initially did not realise that her condition could affect her chances of securing the job. However, she was later informed that she was the most qualified applicant but was not hired because of what the organisation described as her “condition.”

“I have been denied a job opportunity because I’m a woman with albinism. I was the most qualified. In fact, I was told,” she said.

She described the incident as another example of the discrimination people living with albinism continue to face, despite possessing the necessary qualifications, skills and experience for available opportunities.
