Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has asserted his commitment to lead the state with dignity and resilience, affirming that he will not govern from a posture of submission or weakness.

During a visit to the Ubima country home of former governor Sir Celestine Omehia in Ikwerre Local Government Area, alongside a delegation of respected elders from the state, Governor Fubara conveyed condolences on the recent passing of Sir Omehia’s mother, Mrs. Ezinne Cecilia Omehia.

Expressing solidarity with the grieving family, Governor Fubara emphasized the importance of acknowledging the inevitability of death and honoring the life of the departed. He reiterated his determination not to govern Rivers State from a position of subservience, emphasizing his resolve to stand firm and lead the state with integrity and righteousness.

“I have come here with esteemed elders of our state to express our support and condolences. It is essential to demonstrate our empathy and compassion. Any individual who harbors hostility towards death is not rational. We also celebrate the well-lived life of Mama and wish her a peaceful journey to her final resting place. I want to make it clear that I will not lead our beloved state from a position of submission. I will govern with steadfastness and uphold righteousness,” Governor Fubara affirmed.
