The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has approved an extension of the grace period for the enforcement of the Tinted Glass Permit regulation, moving the deadline to August 12, 2025.

In a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the extension aligns with the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to transparent, inclusive, and citizen-focused policing.

Adejobi noted that the extension comes in response to public feedback, acknowledging the concerns raised by Nigerians. “These voices have been instrumental in shaping the ongoing review of the permit process to ensure it is user-friendly, secure, and accessible to everyone,” he said.

He explained that the extension would also allow time for further improvements to the application system. These enhancements aim to make both physical and online applications more efficient through better verification processes and streamlined procedures, reducing delays and minimizing inconvenience.

The public was reminded that the official platform for applying or renewing the Tinted Glass Permit is www.possap.gov.ng.

Citizens are urged to report any unauthorised fees or incidents of extortion during the application or biometric capture process. Reports can be made to appropriate police authorities or via the dedicated hotline: 09169967000.

Adejobi reaffirmed the Police Force’s dedication to public safety, digital transformation, and ongoing service delivery improvements, while thanking Nigerians for their patience and cooperation during the reform process.
