Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has called on President Bola Tinubu to release the forensic audit report on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), which he alleges implicates former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.

Wike pledged to resign from his ministerial position if the report is made public and does not indict Amaechi.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today in Abuja on Friday, July 4, Wike responded to corruption allegations leveled against him by Amaechi. He accused Amaechi’s wife of receiving N4 billion monthly from the NDDC purportedly to train Niger Delta women.

“Amaechi’s wife was never an industrialist. That’s why I am calling on Mr. President to release the forensic audit of the NDDC,” Wike said.

“Her company was paid N4 billion every month for training Niger Delta women—that totals N48 billion in one year alone. The forensic audit report exists. Who buried it? Malami, the former Attorney General.

“I urge Mr. President to do Nigerians a favor by releasing that document. If the report disproves my claims, I will resign as Minister of the FCT. I do not worship office.”

Wike clarified that he was not claiming the audit to be infallible but insisted it must be made public. “Let Nigerians see the report. That is how Amaechi’s wife supposedly became an industrialist—receiving N4 billion every month,” he added.

The FCT Minister also questioned Amaechi’s academic qualifications, describing them as below average. He dismissed Amaechi’s claim that a senator gifted him a Rolls-Royce he does not use, alleging instead that the luxury vehicle came from a contractor who handled nearly 90% of projects in Rivers State during Amaechi’s tenure as governor.
