Prominent lawyer and governance expert, Dr. Joe Abah, has refuted claims linking the Igbo ethnic group to Israeli ancestry.
In a statement shared via social media, Abah emphasized his stance on the matter:
“I am not a Jew. I am Igbo. We didn’t migrate from Israel or anywhere else.”
His comment counters a widely circulated belief that the Igbo people have historical roots in Israel. According to Abah, the Igbo have an indigenous identity and origin that should be acknowledged and preserved without attaching it to foreign narratives.
