Ipswich Town sealed their return to the Premier League with an emphatic 3–0 victory over Queens Park Rangers, securing second place in the Championship.
Early goals from George Hirst and Jaden Philogene inside the first 10 minutes put the hosts firmly in control at Portman Road, before Kasey McAteer added a late third to wrap up the win.
The result saw Ipswich hold off Millwall, who also won but finished third and must now go through the play-offs. Manager Kieran McKenna hailed the achievement after leading the club to a third promotion in four seasons, describing it as the toughest yet.
Ipswich will join champions Coventry City in next season’s top flight, aiming for a stronger showing than their previous Premier League stint.
Elsewhere, Wrexham missed out on the play-offs after a 2–2 draw with Middlesbrough, allowing Hull City to claim the final spot with a win over Norwich City. Millwall will face Hull in the semi-finals, while Southampton, who finished fourth, will take on Middlesbrough.
Meanwhile, Coventry ended the season strongly with a 4–0 win over Watford to finish on 95 points. At the bottom, Sheffield Wednesday had already been relegated but closed their campaign with a 2–1 victory against West Bromwich Albion.
