Iran is reportedly acquiring a formidable arsenal from Russia, including anti-aircraft launchers and fighter jets, and is issuing threats of using weapons never deployed before in response to any provocation by Israel.

Abolfazl Amouei, a spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s National Security Committee, stated in an interview with a local news station on Monday that Iran is prepared to confront any Israeli aggression with a potent response, including the utilization of previously unused weapons.

“We have plans for all scenarios, and we call on the Zionists to act rationally,” Amouei conveyed to Al-Mayadeen News, as reported by the Economic Times.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi also cautioned Israel against taking any action, warning of a severe and extensive retaliation. He attributed the tension in the region to the unwavering support of some Western nations for Israel.

These warnings follow years of international concern over Iran’s nuclear capabilities, with the Islamic Republic possessing multiple nuclear research sites, uranium mines, research reactors, and enrichment plants. Reports indicate that Iran’s uranium stockpile exceeds the limit set by the Obama-era Iran Nuclear Deal, and its enrichment levels are nearing weapons-grade purity.

Additionally, Iran has been bolstering its military capabilities through acquisitions from Russia, including anti-aircraft launchers, drones, and advanced fighter jets. Russia has pledged support for Iran’s air defense systems and spy satellites, with plans to enhance Iran’s Air Force and missile capabilities.

Tehran has also agreed to supply drones and missiles to Moscow for its military operations, while Russia has committed to purchasing military equipment worth billions of dollars from Iran, including anti-drone defense systems.
