The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has instructed Nigerian public universities to complete their 2025 admission processes by October 31, 2025.

According to the board’s schedule, private universities must finalize admissions by November 30, 2025, while all other tertiary institutions, both public and private, are required to conclude admissions by December 31, 2025.

This directive was outlined in JAMB’s weekly bulletin on Monday, August 18, and follows decisions made during the 2025 Policy Meeting chaired by the Minister of Education.

JAMB explained that the move is intended to stabilize the academic calendar and ensure fair access to admission slots across all tertiary institutions.

“Public universities are to complete admissions by 31st October 2025. Private universities by 30th November 2025. All other institutions, public and private, must complete admissions by 31st December 2025,” the board stated.

The board also encouraged institutions to finalize admissions ahead of schedule, even if their academic sessions have not yet begun, emphasizing that admissions should be completed and properly archived to prevent delays.

Additionally, JAMB mandated that institutions conducting post-UTME screenings do so promptly to meet the 2025 admission deadlines.
