Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a woman identified as Aisha Isah after recovering 266 rounds of live AK-47 ammunition from her during a patrol along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway.
The suspect was reportedly apprehended at a toll gate along the highway, according to a statement by the agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi.
However, the NDLEA did not provide details about Isah’s point of departure, intended destination or the circumstances surrounding her possession of the ammunition.
The arrest was part of a series of nationwide operations conducted by the agency, which also resulted in the seizure of illicit drugs and the arrest of several suspected drug traffickers.
