The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has ordered the Super Falcons’ technical crew to step down with immediate effect following the team’s disappointing 2026 campaign.

The federation announced the decision on Monday through a brief statement on its official X account, directing head coach Justin Madugu and other members of the coaching and backroom staff to vacate their positions.

Nigeria endured a difficult WAFCON campaign in Morocco, starting with a 3-2 defeat to tournament debutants Malawi in the group stage.

The Super Falcons were eliminated in the quarter-finals after a 1-0 loss to Cameroon on August 8, marking Nigeria’s first quarter-final exit in the competition.

The defeat also cost Nigeria automatic qualification for the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil. The Falcons later missed another opportunity to qualify after suffering a 2-1 defeat to South Africa in the African qualification play-off.
