Manchester City Sign Record-Breaking Kit Deal Reportedly Worth £1 Billion

Manchester City have signed a landmark kit deal with German sportswear giant Puma, reportedly worth £1 billion ($1.34 billion) over the next decade, making it the most lucrative kit manufacturing contract in Premier League history.

The renewed partnership, which extends their existing agreement initially signed in 2019 at £65 million per year, is believed to boost the annual value to around £100 million until 2035. This deal surpasses Manchester United’s £90 million-per-year contract with Adidas, signed in 2023.

City’s commercial success now puts them alongside European giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, both reportedly securing kit deals exceeding £100 million annually.

Ferran Soriano, CEO of City Football Group, praised the partnership, saying, “We joined forces with Puma with the ambition to challenge ourselves and go beyond expectations. Over the last six seasons, we have achieved this and more. Puma has seamlessly integrated into our organisation, helping us create historic moments and engage fans worldwide.”

Puma CEO Arthur Hoeld echoed the sentiment, calling the collaboration “a great success both on and off the pitch,” highlighting its alignment with City’s dominance and global growth.

The announcement arrives amid a transitional phase for the club, following a rare trophyless season. Under Pep Guardiola, City finished third in the Premier League, ending their streak of four consecutive titles, lost the FA Cup final to Crystal Palace, and exited the Club World Cup early after a defeat to Al-Hilal.
