
The Super Falcons of Nigeria have claimed their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title after a thrilling 3–2 comeback victory over host nation Morocco.
Morocco started strongly, with Ghizlane Chebbak opening the scoring in the 12th minute with a stunning strike from the edge of the box. Twelve minutes later, Sanaâ Mssoudy doubled the lead, beating Michelle Alozie in the box and finishing low past Nigerian goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie to make it 2–0.
Nigeria responded with a determined second-half performance. Esther Okoronkwo pulled one back for the Super Falcons in the 64th minute, converting a penalty to spark the comeback. Just seven minutes later, Folashade Ijamilusi leveled the score with a close-range finish.
The winning goal came in the 88th minute, when substitute Jennifer Echegini calmly slotted home a decisive finish, sealing a dramatic 3–2 victory for Nigeria.
With this win, the Super Falcons further cement their dominance in African women’s football, lifting their record-extending 10th WAFCON title.
