Former Manchester United and Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has officially returned to professional football, signing a two-year deal with AS Monaco following an 18-month suspension for doping.
Pogba, 32, was initially handed a four-year ban in August 2023 after testing positive for dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), a banned substance. However, the suspension was reduced to 18 months in October, allowing him to return to action earlier this year. Before the end of his ban, his contract with Juventus was mutually terminated in November 2024.
Monaco confirmed the signing in an official statement:
“AS Monaco are delighted to announce the arrival of Paul Pogba. The French World Champion has signed a two-season deal, and is now tied to the Principality until 30 June 2027.”
With 91 international caps and a World Cup title to his name, Pogba adds significant experience to a Monaco side that finished third in Ligue 1 last season and is looking to challenge Paris Saint-Germain for the title.
