The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has dismissed reports claiming that Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has been declared wanted.

In a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, the Police described the so-called “wanted notice” circulating on social media as false, misleading, and not issued by the Force.

The viral poster, which featured the label “SPECIAL POLICE WANTED” alongside a photo of Iyabo Ojo, made the rounds on Tuesday and Wednesday, generating widespread public reaction.

However, the Police have urged Nigerians to disregard the notice, clarifying the situation in a formal statement:

“Clarification on Police Gazette Bulletin of Wanted Person

The Nigeria Police Force wishes to clarify that the recent Wanted Person Bulletin circulating, which claims that Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo is wanted by the Office of the IGP Monitoring Unit, is NOT an official communication from the Force.

The NPF urges the public to verify information through official channels and to remain cautious of misinformation.”
