Paris Saint-Germain booked their place in the Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday, April 14, with a convincing 2–0 away win over Liverpool FC, sealing a dominant 4–0 aggregate victory.
The defending European champions arrived at Anfield with a two-goal advantage from the first leg and delivered a composed performance to shut down any hopes of a Liverpool comeback.
The breakthrough came in the 72nd minute when Ousmane Dembélé calmly found the net, effectively putting the tie beyond reach on aggregate.
Dembélé struck again in stoppage time, taking advantage of Liverpool’s late push to complete a commanding display for the visitors.
“We knew the atmosphere at Anfield would be difficult, but we stayed focused on our game plan,” Dembélé said after the match.
It was a frustrating night for Arne Slot’s side, who found it difficult to break down PSG’s well-organized defense over both legs.
With the win, PSG continue their bid to retain their European title and will now face the winner of the quarter-final clash between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in the semi-finals.
Having joined Atlético Madrid in the last four, the Paris side remains one of the strongest contenders as the competition heads into its decisive stage.
