Tennis icon Roger Federer, the first man to win 20 Grand Slam singles titles, and former US Open champion Juan Martin del Potro are set to headline the list of nominees for the International Tennis Hall of Fame Class of 2026.
They lead a distinguished group in the Player Category, which honors ATP and WTA athletes with outstanding achievements at the highest level of the sport. Federer is often credited with transforming modern tennis, rising to global stardom alongside longtime rivals Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.
One of only eight men to complete a career Grand Slam, Federer achieved the feat by winning the French Open in 2009. His Grand Slam tally includes a record eight Wimbledon titles, six Australian Open victories, five US Open wins, and one French Open crown.
Also nominated in the Player Category is Russia’s Svetlana Kuznetsova, a four-time Grand Slam champion who claimed two major titles in singles (2004 US Open, 2009 French Open) and two in doubles.
In the Contributor Category, longtime broadcaster Mary Carillo and tennis administrator Marshall Happer are among the nominees. The final list of inductees for the Class of 2026 will be announced in November.
