The Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, has confirmed the arrest of six individuals in the Meiran area for illegal dumping of refuse on Thursday, November 20.
The arrested persons were identified as Patience Orobatan, 72; Felicia Aja, 40; Sheriff Ogundeji, 20; Titilayo Durorike, 40; Adeola Ononuga, 52; and Adu Bola, 60.
Following their arrest, the individuals were investigated to determine why they were disposing of waste in unauthorized locations. None could provide proof of PSP registration or demonstrate the presence of a waste storage facility at their residences.
All six have been handed over to the LAWMA legal team at the Oshodi Taskforce office to face further legal action.
