Soldiers thwart abduction attempt targeting Anglican bishop in Kaduna

Troops from Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) successfully thwarted an abduction attempt targeting Bishop Paul Zamani of the Anglican Diocese in Sambak Gida village, Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State. This significant development was announced by Captain Oya James, the spokesperson for OPSH, in a statement released on September 14, 2023.

In the statement, Captain Oya James emphasized OPSH’s commitment to securing communities within its operational jurisdiction. He revealed that OPSH forces swiftly responded to a distress call, engaging the kidnappers in a firefight, which resulted in the assailants fleeing with gunshot wounds.

Major General AE Abubakar, the Commander of Operation Safe Haven, expressed his gratitude to the general public for providing valuable information that led to the apprehension of the suspects and the foiling of the kidnapping plot. He further reassured the public that the apprehended suspects would be promptly brought to justice once the ongoing investigations were concluded
