Suspected cultist dies after collapsing while fleeing police in Ogun
A suspected cultist identified simply as Damola has reportedly died after allegedly collapsing while fleeing from police operatives in Ogun State.
The incident occurred in the Kajola area of Ikenne Local Government Area following intelligence received by the police that a man had allegedly been ambushed by suspected cult members.
Following the report, police operatives reportedly moved into the area and arrested one of the suspects, identified as Oluwatimileyin Daniel, while others fled the scene.
Damola was said to have collapsed while attempting to escape from the operatives. He was reportedly rushed to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The incident reportedly heightened tension in the community, prompting security agencies to increase their presence in the area.
The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the incident, stating that an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
