The FCT police have apprehended six individuals suspected of armed robbery in an unfinished hospital building.

Six suspected armed robbers have been apprehended by operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, as revealed by the command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, in a statement issued on Friday, February 9, 2024.

The arrests were carried out by operatives from the Utako Divisional Headquarters. The suspects were found in an unfinished hospital building recognized as a notorious area in Utako village.

The apprehended individuals are identified as Basara Hassan (41), Daniel Charles (27), Adamu Oshiaka (32), Chancy Asidi (38), and Saliu Al Hassan (24), all hailing from neighboring states bordering the FCT.

The statement disclosed the recovery of a locally made pistol, two live cartridges, and wraps of suspected marijuana from the suspects.

The investigation into the seized ammunition led to the apprehension of Yusuf Iliyasu, also known as Tablet, who is identified as an ex-convict and the leader of the syndicate.

While affirming the ongoing investigation, the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Benneth Igweh, assured residents of the unwavering commitment to combat crime and ensure the safety of all residents in Abuja.
