The Nigeria national football team, the Super Eagles, is scheduled to engage in a friendly match against the reigning world champions, Argentina, in March. The venue for this friendly encounter will be the Guangdong Olympics Centre Stadium in China, with the exact date set to be announced by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) soon. The NFF has indicated that this friendly fixture will serve as crucial preparation for the Super Eagles as they gear up for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying double-header against South Africa and Benin Republic in June.

Despite their ongoing FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign, led by coach Jose Peseiro, the Super Eagles have yet to secure a victory in the competition. In their initial match, the three-time African champions played to a 1-1 draw against the Crocodiles of Lesotho. The subsequent game saw them repeating the same result against the Warriors of Zimbabwe in their second encounter.
