President-elect Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that he will soon make a decision regarding TikTok’s operations following the Supreme Court’s ruling. The court upheld a law mandating the platform’s ban unless its Chinese parent company, ByteDance, sells it to an American firm.

On Friday, January 17, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to intervene in TikTok’s case, citing a legitimate national security concern due to the platform’s ownership by a Chinese company.

Trump stated that the ruling was anticipated and must be respected, adding that he requires time to assess the situation further.
