The highly anticipated heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua could be moved from the United States to the United Kingdom, with Cardiff’s Principality Stadium emerging as a leading alternative venue.

New York’s Madison Square Garden had reportedly been considered for the November 20 bout. However, Joshua’s contract is said to contain a clause requiring the fight to take place in the UK.

Attempts by Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh and broadcaster Netflix to stage the event in the US have reportedly faced opposition from Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, who insists that the contractual terms must be honoured.

Hearn has also threatened legal action against TKO Group Holdings, the parent company of UFC and Zuffa Boxing, over efforts to relocate the fight to American soil.
