Less than 24 hours to the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exercise, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has expressed concern over the low turnout of candidates who have printed their examination notification slips.
The mop-up exam, scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 2025, is meant for candidates who missed the main UTME for verified reasons. However, in a statement issued on Friday, JAMB revealed that only 12,442 out of the 98,232 eligible candidates have printed their slips—just 12.6%.
“We strongly encourage all candidates, particularly those who missed the main examination, to print their notification slips promptly. This is a rare opportunity for them to participate in this year’s examination,” said JAMB spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.
JAMB warned that failure to print the exam slip would mean automatic forfeiture of the opportunity to sit for the test.
The board also reassured candidates that it has fully mobilized human and material resources to ensure a smooth and inclusive examination process.
“We are closely monitoring the situation and tracking the number of candidates who have printed their slips. Once again, we urge all affected candidates to proceed without delay to print their slips for tomorrow’s exam,” the statement added.
