Suspected Kidnappers Kill Hotelier in Kwara State

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have killed a hotelier, Chief David Oladepo Aina, popularly known as Kebe, in Oro Ago community, located in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Chief Aina, the owner of Kebe Hotel, was reportedly shot and killed by the assailants during an invasion of the community on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.

Sources indicate that the incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. at the hotel premises. According to an eyewitness account, the gunmen attempted to abduct Aina, but he resisted, prompting them to open fire and fatally shoot him.

Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, confirmed the incident, stating that contrary to earlier reports, no other individuals were abducted during the attack.

“Nobody was kidnapped, but one hotelier was killed during the attack on the community,” the Commissioner said.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
