The Plateau State Government has announced a further relaxation of the curfew in Jos North Local Government Area, following an improvement in the security situation.

The update was contained in a statement issued in Jos by Joyce Ramnap, who said the decision followed consultations with security agencies and a review of recent developments in the area.

Under the revised directive, the curfew will now run daily from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., effective April 15, 2026.

“The Plateau State Government, in consultation with security agencies, wishes to further relax the curfew imposed in the wake of recent disturbances. Consequently, curfew hours will be between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.,” the statement read.

The government praised residents for their cooperation, noting that their compliance had helped improve security conditions in the area. It also urged the public to remain peaceful and vigilant, and to report any suspicious activity to security agencies.

Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding lives and property, adding that efforts would continue to restore full normalcy across Jos North and other parts of the state.
