Wolverhampton Wanderers, popularly known as Wolves, have been officially relegated from the Premier League after West Ham United played out a goalless draw with Crystal Palace on Monday night.
The encounter at Selhurst Park ended 0–0, with West Ham earning a vital point in their fight for survival.
The result sealed Wolves’ fate, as they remain on 17 points after 33 matches and can no longer catch West Ham, who sit just above the relegation zone with 33 points.
Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley are the other sides currently in the relegation places, with 31 and 20 points respectively.
Burnley could also have their relegation confirmed if they lose their midweek clash against Manchester City, which would mathematically end their survival hopes.
Following the confirmation, Wolves’ interim executive, Nathan Shi, expressed disappointment but assured fans of a stronger future.
He said the club has already begun planning ahead, focusing on rebuilding a competitive squad and restoring pride among supporters.
“We are clear on what needs to improve,” Shi said, adding that the club would approach the coming months “with purpose” after a difficult season.
