Fulham have turned down Atletico Madrid’s bid for Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi.

According to multiple reports from England, Atletico Madrid offered $21.5 million for Iwobi this week, along with a four-year contract worth €7 million annually.

The 29-year-old reportedly showed interest in the move to Spain, but Fulham remain firm in their decision to keep him. Atletico Madrid view Iwobi as a potential replacement for Belgium international Yannick Carrasco.

Iwobi was one of Fulham’s key players last season, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists across 38 league matches. He also made history as the first Nigerian to feature in all 38 Premier League games in two separate seasons.

He finished second in Fulham’s Player of the Season award, behind fellow Nigerian international Calvin Bassey.
