Chelsea is preparing for a significant late transfer window overhaul, with Raheem Sterling included among nine players the club aims to move on before the summer deadline.
The 30-year-old winger endured a challenging loan spell at Arsenal last season and still has two years remaining on his £325,000-per-week contract. Both Sterling and Chelsea reportedly prefer a permanent transfer solution, though another loan deal remains a possibility.
Sterling is one of several players earmarked for exits in what insiders describe as a late-window “fire sale.” Chelsea are also working to sell or loan Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, Renato Veiga, Axel Disasi, Carney Chukwuemeka, Ben Chilwell, and potentially Tyrique George. Argentine defender Aaron Anselmino has attracted interest from European clubs as well.
The club hopes to generate close to £300 million in player sales before the window closes, aiming to significantly reduce their net transfer spend.
Sterling has reportedly drawn interest from Fulham, keen to keep the player in London where his family is settled. West Ham and Crystal Palace have also been linked with moves, while other Premier League and foreign clubs are monitoring his situation.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has informed Sterling that he will not feature in the squad this season. His omission from the club’s official first-team roster further signals his uncertain future.
Signed from Manchester City for £47.5 million in summer 2022, Sterling has struggled to regain his best form in recent years.
