Gombe State Police Command has arrested two suspects for criminal conspiracy, housebreaking, and theft.

The suspects, Ibrahim Umar, 22, from Herwa Gana Quarter, Gombe LGA, and Usman Abdullahi, 27, from Kumbiya Kumbiya Quarters, Gombe LGA, broke into the home of Abdulbasid Haruna on February 3, 2025, at approximately 1:00 am. They stole several items, including laptops, mobile phones, and other valuables, with a total worth of N3,200,570.

According to the Police spokesperson, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the command is actively working to apprehend the receiver of the stolen items, Ibrahim Danmariya.

The statement, issued on Tuesday, February 11, details the theft: “On February 4, 2025, at around 4:00 pm, a formal complaint was made by Abdulbasid Haruna of Maitama Quarters, Bye-pass, stating that on February 3, 2025, at about 1:00 am, unknown individuals broke into his house and stole the following items: (1) Apple MacBook laptop valued at N2,100,000, (2) Dell laptop valued at N250,000, (3) Vivo V40 mobile phone valued at N740,000, (4) Oramo smartwatch valued at N48,000, (5) Oramo air pod valued at N48,000, (6) 500GB SSD external device valued at N60,000, and airtime valued at N4,570. The total value of the stolen items is N3,200,570.”

Following the complaint, police detectives from the CP’s Monitoring Unit launched an investigation, using technological tools to track some of the stolen devices, which eventually led to the suspects’ arrest on February 7, 2025.

Further investigation revealed that all the stolen items had been recovered after being sold for N80,000. The suspects admitted to committing the crime, and efforts are underway to apprehend the receiver of the stolen goods.

The Police Command has urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or formation.
