The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) resit results.

This was made known in a statement issued on Sunday, May 24, 2025, by the board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin.

JAMB also confirmed the release of previously withheld results for underage candidates—except in cases under litigation—as well as those who scored below the required standard or were involved in exam-related infractions like ‘WhatsApp Runs’ and other misconduct. The board, however, clarified that this release does not guarantee admission for underage candidates who had signed a prior agreement acknowledging this condition.

According to the board, 336,845 candidates were rescheduled for the resit, out of which 21,082 were absent. The results were released following a nationwide meeting of JAMB’s Chief External Examiners (CEEs).

A sub-committee, chaired by Professor Olufemi Peters, Vice-Chancellor of the National Open University and CEE for the FCT, was tasked with reviewing and validating the results. Renowned psychometrics expert, Prof. Boniface Nworgu, was also invited to analyze and endorse the outcomes.

JAMB emphasized that the release of results for candidates involved in misconduct is a one-time waiver and not a validation of their actions. Candidates are urged to avoid participating in dubious online groups or activities in the future.

All results, except those of candidates found guilty of serious examination offenses or scheduled for mop-up exams, have now been released. Some previously released results have also been withdrawn following new findings by security agencies. Affected candidates will be notified via SMS, email, and their JAMB profiles.

JAMB further clarified that it does not profit from the result-checking shortcode (55019/66019), explaining it is intended to protect candidate data and reduce exploitation by cybercafé operators.
