The family of legendary Juju musician Sunday Adegeye, popularly known as King Sunny Ade (KSA), has debunked rumours of his alleged disappearance, assuring the public that he is safe, healthy, and in good spirits.
The clarification follows a recent social media post by one of his daughters, Damilola, who raised concerns over the singer’s whereabouts, alleging that her brother Dayo—who also serves as King Sunny Ade’s manager—was holding him at an undisclosed location against his will.
In a statement released on behalf of the family, Dayo dismissed the claims as “malicious” and aimed at damaging the reputation of the music icon.
“We want to assure the public that King Sunny Ade is safe and sound. There is no truth to the kidnapping rumour, and we are taking appropriate steps to address the situation and identify those responsible for spreading this false information,” the statement read.
Dayo further reassured fans and the general public: “The King of World Beats has not been abducted or held against his will. King Sunny Ade is in good health and remains focused on his music and enduring legacy.”
The family emphasized that both the Adegeye household and King Sunny Ade’s management team are actively working to stop the spread of misinformation and preserve the artist’s well-earned reputation.
