Liverpool have reportedly made an approach to sign Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak in a potential record-breaking £120 million deal.
The Premier League champions are actively seeking a new centre-forward amid ongoing uncertainty over Darwin Núñez’s future, with Napoli among the clubs interested in the Uruguay international this summer.
According to The Athletic, Liverpool have yet to make a formal offer and remain fully aware of Newcastle’s firm stance that their star forward is not for sale.
Isak, the Swedish international, has been in impressive form, netting 62 goals in 102 appearances for Newcastle.
As an alternative, the Reds have reportedly turned their attention to Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike, who is also attracting significant interest from Newcastle. Sky Sports reports that Newcastle rejected an initial £70 million bid for the 23-year-old French forward on Tuesday.
