Madugu, Olowookere, Super Falcons, and Flamingos Nominated for 2025 CAF Awards

Justine Madugu and Bankole Olowookere have been nominated for the 2025 CAF Women’s Coach of the Year award.

Madugu led the Super Falcons to victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, where Nigeria claimed a record-extending 10th title after a thrilling 3-2 win over the host nation in the final. She was also nominated for the Women’s Coach of the Year at the 2025 Ballon d’Or.

Flamingos head coach Bankole Olowookere is also in contention for the award as he aims to guide the team to their first-ever title at the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco this month. Nigeria will kick off their campaign against Canada on Sunday.

Flamingos captain Shakirat Moshood is nominated for the Women’s Young Player of the Year award.

Both the Super Falcons and the Flamingos are also nominated for the Women’s National Team of the Year award.
