Military forces successfully liberated 52 individuals abducted in Sokoto.

Troops from Hadarin Daji (OPHD) successfully freed 52 individuals who had been kidnapped in the Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

In a statement released on Saturday, December 23, 2023, the Nigerian Army revealed that the rescued victims, comprising 14 males, 32 females, and 6 children, would undergo medical examinations before being handed over to the relevant authorities for reunification with their families.

The statement outlined the military’s continued efforts to combat terrorists through a series of clearance operations in their designated Areas of Responsibilities. The joint troops of the Joint Task Force North-West Operation HADARIN DAJI (OPHD) executed a well-coordinated operation, resulting in the rescue of the 52 kidnap victims in Isa LGA of Sokoto State.

The successful operation took place on December 22, 2023, during which the troops cleared and dismantled terrorist enclaves at Saruwa, Kubuta, Gundumi villages, and Bunwanga Gundumi forest in Isa LGA of Sokoto State. Multiple terrorists were neutralized during the mission.

The rescued individuals, comprising 14 males, 32 females, and 6 children, will undergo medical check-ups, debriefing, and subsequent handover to the appropriate authorities for the purpose of reuniting them with their families.
