An abroad-based Nigerian nurse and former lawyer, Ezinne Ebebe, has claimed that men who travel back to Africa to find wives with the intention of bringing them overseas to study nursing and become financial providers are often uneducated or unemployed.
According to her, educated men and healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses and X-ray technicians, rarely return to Africa in search of spouses.
She explained that such professionals typically marry women within their existing social circles, adding that the only exception would be returning to Africa to marry a longtime girlfriend.
