Police apprehend five individuals for their alleged involvement in the disturbance of the NANS convention in Abuja.

The Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Haruna Garba, has officially confirmed the apprehension of five suspects in connection with the attempted disruption of the NANS convention held on November 30.

Garba, cautioning against any acts that disturb public peace, unlawful assembly, and criminal infiltration of lawful gatherings in the nation’s capital, revealed that security operatives promptly intercepted the suspects. Some of these individuals were handed over to the police by the Department of State Services (DSS).

The arrested suspects have been identified as Adeniran Femi, Ishaya Christopher, Obigi Emeka, Fatokun Ayodele, and Abdullahi Saliu.

Various items were seized from the suspects, including a pump-action gun, a locally made double-barrel shotgun, two locally made pistols, a Beretta pistol, fifteen live ammunition cartridges, an axe, twelve cutlasses, mobile phones, a bag containing security agency uniforms, and a Mazda car with registration number RBC909DP, which contained some of the seized items. The police are actively pursuing other suspects who are still at large. Following the conclusion of investigations, charges will be brought against the arrested suspects in court.
