Students were evacuated from Arena Academy in Birmingham on Thursday morning following a reported bomb threat, triggering a rapid police response and the activation of emergency protocols.

West Midlands Police confirmed that officers responded to the school in the Great Barr area after receiving an email alert about the threat. Although authorities later indicated there was no evidence of a credible danger to students or staff, police remained on site as a precaution.

The school sent an alert to parents shortly after the incident began, informing them of the evacuation and measures taken to ensure pupil safety. A message reportedly from nearby Priestley Smith School read: “We have received a message from Priestley Smith School this morning informing us there has been a bomb threat. We are not sure if this is a credible threat but we’re following our protocols and currently evacuating to Turnbury Park. Police are also supporting us. We will keep you fully informed.”

Following the evacuation, Arena Academy confirmed that students would not return for the rest of the day while police conducted thorough safety searches of the premises.

No further details have been released regarding the origin or content of the threat, but investigations are ongoing.
