Radhika Yadav, a 25-year-old state-level tennis player known for winning multiple competitions, was tragically shot and killed by her father in Gurugram’s Sushant Lok Phase 2 on Thursday, July 10.

According to police reports, the incident occurred around 10 a.m. when her father, Deepak Yadav, allegedly fired five rounds at her inside their home. Three of the bullets struck Radhika. She was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The police have since arrested Deepak Yadav, who reportedly confessed during preliminary questioning. He was allegedly upset over his daughter’s frequent activity on Instagram, particularly her habit of making short video reels.
The FIR was filed by the accused’s brother. Police responded after receiving a call from the hospital reporting a woman had been brought in with gunshot injuries.
Radhika Yadav, born on March 23, 2000, was known not only for her competitive record but also for running a tennis academy. Unconfirmed reports suggest she had once ranked 113th in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) doubles category.
An investigation is currently underway.
